PDF to Word Editor's Review

We expected a lot from this app, because the ability to save PDFs as Word documents has the potential to save hours of work. When an app like this claims that it can convert PDF to Word with no loss of formatting, hopes are high that you will get an editable, mirror-image document. So it is disappointing when you download a demo, only to find that the conversion is not as perfect as you had hoped, and that you will still have to spend a substantial amount of time formatting the results.

The program does a decent conversion on simple documents, but falls short when converting tables and images embedded in the document.
The full version may produce better results, but it was difficult to tell with the limitations imposed by the trial version. You can only convert a limited number of pages and random symbols appear throughout the text in the converted document.

Pro's: Simple text documents can be converted quite successfully.

Con's: Limited trial. Tables and images are not converted well. The output will still need to be formatted after conversion.

Conclusion: At $39 for the full version, PDF to Word is not priced competitively. There are other utilities that can do a better PDF to Word conversion. While the program may work in some instances, it did not impress us enough to want to continue testing it further.
